Wuhan pneumonia (CCP coronavirus) pandemic is giving a hard time for many of us. Some are losing their source of income and some are working hard to make ends meet. Thankfully, there’s an amazing landlord in Brooklyn that understands it all.

Mario Salerno is a landlord and the owner of the local car mechanic, Salerno’s Autobody in Brooklyn. Understanding how the pandemic does not only affecting health but also our finance, Salerno is looking to take the latter weight off a few people.

So this 59-year-old man decided to cancel this month’s rent for hundreds of his tenants after hearing of several tenants who were struggling to make ends meet so that they will have enough money for food and supplies.

On March 30, Salerno placed a sign on the front doors of his apartment buildings announcing that he would be waiving rent payments for April.

Salerno was said to own around 80 apartments, with 200 tenants across the areas of Williamsburg and Greenpoint.

“Please note I am waiving rent for the month of April 2020. Stay safe, help your neighbors and wash your hands!” reads the notice.

“I want everybody to be healthy. That’s the whole thing. For me, it was more important for people’s health and worrying about who could put food on whose table. I say don’t worry about paying me, worry about your neighbor and worry about your family,” told Salerno, saying that his main concern is the health and well-being of his tenants.

No rent for April!

According to one of the people in the neighborhood, Salerno and his family always make everyone feel like family and one of the kindest people he ever met. So it is no surprise to him that Salerno will offer this amazing gesture.

Salerno, you’re such an inspiration to all of us!
