Cupid is a loyal dog and probably the sweetest you’ll ever meet. When she was left alone in front of the house after her previous owners decided to move out, Cupid patiently waited for them to come back and maybe take her along – but that didn’t happen.
Cupid was left behind, alone, waiting for someone to come for weeks until she fell asleep on the porch of the house in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. That was when the neighbors decided to call Janine Guido, founder of Speranza Animal Rescue, to report on the pitiful dog.
“All I was told was that his owners moved out and left her behind. I asked multiple other people if they knew anything about the dog and they just said – They moved out,” told Guido to The Dodo.
When Guido tried to approach Cupid, she was eating out of the dumpster. When Guido tried to get closer, Cupid ran and scratched at her door as if she’s begging her owners to let her in.
Guido tried to convince Cupid to take some food, but Cupid bolted. And that breaks Guido’s heart. She spent 30 minutes chasing Cupid while trying to win her trust.
“It sounds dumb but I swear she knew what I was saying to her. She literally came over and sat down and allowed me to leash her,” told Guido explaining what happened during the rescue.
Guido explained that Cupid is still confused and not sure what is happening to her after being left alone, but she’s happy to meet everyone and slowly getting used to her new surroundings.
Won’t let this sweet furry friend alone anymore, Guido said that Cupid will be ready for her new forever home after she finished all her vet checkups.
Let’s pray that Cupid will find a new forever home that she deserves very soon.
